Using the Tracker-What Gets Measured Gets Done!-August 17, 2017

Have you heard the saying that things that get measured get done? That is one of the reasons for using the Tracker in The Family History Guide. Yesterday we highlighted the paper Tracker (Word) that you can download and print to have by your side while working on your chosen Project in the Family History Guide. <www.thefhguide.com>

I have seen people that were hesitant to do their family history for years, in as little as one or two sessions while using the tracker, gain confidence in themselves. This happens because they can measure and see their progress. It also changes their whole paradigm when they focus on learning just one thing at a time.

The Online Tracker is highlighted in the June 1, 2017 Explorer Newsletter. You can find it in the More link dropdown menu select Newsletter. Look at the bottom of the page where all the Newsletters are listed. The Online Tracker is still being developed but has several things that you can use right now.
The Online Tracker is found in the Training Link or Misc. Link dropdown menu on the Home Page. You register for the Online Tracker the first time you use it. If you should forget your sign in later, there is a Username and Password Recovery link there for your convenience.
I like to do a side by side screen view of the The Family History Guide Project I have chosen and the Online Tracker.
The advantages of the Online Tracker are that you don't have a lot of loose papers around, you can store it easily right Online and have it with you. It is organized, easy, efficient and mobile.
The Projects are all included and the United States page is completed for the Online Tracker at this time. Other Countries and the Partner pages are coming in the future.
Tracking either way is great because you can go through and see how many things you have already mastered and where you need to go next.
