Being Pioneers of Family History and Genealogy-July 24, 2017

What a remarkable people the pioneers were. How grateful we are for their sacrifices. Their hardships would have probably broken most of us today.

Have you ever thought about how we are the modern day pioneers in FH and Genealogy? We are called to this work individually, because the Lord knows we can do it. The work we do has never been easy, but we are here to help others because we can. So many members are being left behind because they do not know how to do this work. To keep up each day, to meet the challenges of every turn in the road is seemly insurmountable to them. The load often feels too heavy to carry with all of their other responsibilities.

I feel like we are called to be the pioneers standing in the threshold of a brand new age. We stand at the doorway of this last big push to get this work done before the Savior comes again. These feelings seem very similar to the things that the pioneers felt and experienced after they left Nauvoo. Oh, how we should revere them for their grit and stamina. Someday may they be saying something similar about our efforts. With the Family History Guide it seems doable at last. It is heaven sent for sure! Let's push along! We can do this!

Bonnie Colberg Mattson That is so wonderful Gillian. They may needs all kinds of help with printing ordinance cards, getting to the temple, etc. You are a perfect example of someone finding a need and filling it! There is so much work to do. Everything makes a difference! ðŸ˜Š
