Lately I have been thinking about the BYU Family History Library in Provo, Utah.  We have mentioned it several times on The Family History Guide regarding webinars.  The FH Library at BYU has more than 300 videos and webinars on a myriad of family history topics available on their Youtube channel for free.  If you go to Youtube and search for the BYU Family History Library you will find the channel.  You should subscribe to it for all their announcements of new webinars and videos.

Not all of the videos can be listed individually on the Family History Guide.  Since most of us use Family Search/Family Tree often in our own work or when helping others I wanted to add a video today for your benefit.  It is slated to be added soon to the Family History Guide.

You'd probably agree with me that if you do not know how to use The Person Details Page on the Family Search/Family Tree you will run into some difficulty going forward.  All the additions and editing happens in conjunction with this page.

Project 1 is where we learn all about Family Tree on The Family History Guide.  Go to the Family History Guide  <wwwthefhguide.com> Home:  Projects: Project 1, Family Tree.  In addition, if needed, check out this video!

Kathryn Grant presented a powerful webinar on this entitled Deep-Dive The Person Page on Family Search/Family Tree.  Enjoy!

BYU Webinar Schedule And How To Get Admittance To The Room- August 10, 2017

Pinterest

Yesterday I did a dry run getting on to the BYU Family History Library website for viewing a live webinar.  I am glad I did.  I surely do not want to miss The webinar by Bob Taylor who will be updating The Family History Guide tonight at 6:00 PM MST.  There are some wonderful things in store for all of us. Here is what you do to get admitted to the "room".

Click on this link:

https://sites.lib.byu.edu/…/classes-and-we…/online-webinars/

Double click on the monthly schedule.
Sign in by entering Guest. You will get a dark gray screen with a wide white banner in the center. It will say welcome and a few others things. There is a large BYU logo on the right hand side.

*Then it will just stay on your screen in silence until right before the webinar begins. Do not do anything just wait and it will come on just a few minutes before it begins with, Braydon Knutson, or another narrator.

I wanted to share that as I felt myself getting a little antsy waiting and wondering. I checked in about 15 minutes early.
I have watched many of these webinars in the past in the archives, but this was the first one I had live-streamed. I am grateful I could learn exactly how to do it In The Family History Guide! We are very excited for tonight, Bob! Thank you for all you do for all of us! <www.thwfhguide.com>

How many of you like to use Youtube to learn about genealogy or technology? I sure do. BYU Family History Library has a YouTube channel with many webinars.

To learn about Webinars and how to stream them go to The Family History Guide. On the Home page select Projects: Technology: Webinars, Goal 1, Accessing Webinars for Family History Research.

The nice thing about the Webinars is that they are archived and you can watch them anytime. And many of them have downloadable handouts! They are all very worthwhile and a great way to learn.

Our CEO, Bob Taylor, has done great webinars on The Family History Guide. View 1 Below https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-NImhMz2U5o

James Tanner, the Chairman of the Board of The Family History Guide Association, also has many outstanding webinars on the YouTube /BYU Family History Library channel. You can subscribe to the channel and never miss a thing!
